NEWS MEDIA, A POLITICAL TOOL

Moving every part of country you will see different cultures, religions, and people. This country consists of largest democracy of the world, with a population of about 1.35 billion. Connectivity of people in India with its people, heritage, cultures, is being provided by television media since decades. Media is voice for people, of people, by people in India. But today if you analyse what TV media channels are doing is something different. Is it now becoming a political game player? It is very important to be noticed. You will have to come through some facts.

HISTORY OF TV MEDIA IN INDIA

Prasar Bharti ministry of broadcasting founded Doordarshan as a source of information system in India, in 1959, a very short duration programmes were used to be telecast those day but it was also acceptable and enough for people to watch. All purpose of news was to give so many contents as they could give and provide information first among all. Media is purposed to be information provider, voice of democracy, poor, backwards. It was an EYE logo given to DD news, by Devashish Bhattacharya in 1970 which indicates the vision of country.

WHAT IS PURPOSE OF NEWS MEDIA

It is voice of democracy, poor and backwards. Moreover, politicians and governments are asked question by media so that public may not be cheated by their leaders. Every single situation in country use to read in manner on news channel in same way without moulding it into any favour. Everyone whether a political face or non political one, who is addressing a group of people, should be asked questions by media always about what they are doing in a public scenario. Media should never be biased for any topic or any ideology supporter, because on being biased there are more chances of people or followers to be influenced by media’s ideology. It is to provide all information as possible to public over social, economical, political affairs.

DEBATES ON NEWS CHANNELS

In year 2019 alone, there were only communal debates based on religious issues approximately taken 1,060 hours, statements of an ordinary public figure discussed about 200 hours, on a single news channel. Live debates are being invited every day on news studio in which panellists are same for every topic. Anchors who host these debates start questioning to the opposite panellist from the side of one to which they support. And hosts never allow speaking guest of different ideology on their channels. So basically a pressurised democracy is being created by television news media.

CONCLUSION

In the name of democracy, nationalism, religious sentiments, Indian media is today every time creating a situation of riots and civil war in country, by hurting peoples' sentiment, as audience in India are emotional one and dragging same news many hours makes people to burst out. All of these scenes are created to diverse people from topic of development, economics, social issues etc.
